Last July 26, 2013, eCOM hosted a luncheon entitled: “Value-Added Services for Today’s Customers!” The Luncheon was held at the J.W. Marriot in Admiralty, Hong Kong and was attended by a combination of multi-national companies from the Financial Services Industry primarily from Banking and Insurance, followed by Credit Card Services and Securities.
Event Highlights
Key highlights are the eCOM B2B Financial Services Industry (FSI) Gateway presentation, the e-Banking/Internet File Transfer (IFT) demo, the AXA customer reference, and the Q&A portion.
eCOM B2B FSI Gateway Presentation
eCOM’s FSI expert, Mr. Horace Mak, presented the three industry trends to creating value-added services that can boost overall revenue: quick time-to-market, flexibility to perform fast customer and business partner integrations, and rapid compliance to industry and security Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Many companies have previously tried to create value-added services using “Silo” solutions but are unable to achieve high ROI rates as these solutions are difficult to scale, operate, and secure. Today, more and more companies are trending towards a “Platform” solution for B2B/Manage File Transfer (MFT) that consolidates their entire business processes among customers and business partners. With this “Platform” solution, companies can create value-added services that have quick time-to-market, fast integration, and rapid compliance and security.
eCOM has developed the eCOM B2B FSI Gateway based on IBM Sterling B2B/MFT solutions. IBM B2B/MFT solutions are the industry-leading solutions for 30 years and have never been breached. The eCOM B2B FSI Gateway is the foundation to building multiple FSI applications such as e-Banking/Internet File Transfer (IFT), Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment (EBPP), Insurance Processing, and e-Statement. These applications provide key functionalities that help companies quickly provide revenue-generating value-added services for their customers.
More information on the eCOM B2B FSI Gateway and applications can be found here.
e-Banking / Internet File Transfer (IFT) Demo
The IFT demo showcased bank and client side scenarios such as creating users, submitting, processing, tracking, logging, and approval of any document as well as other marketing related features.
Customer Reference
To put our solution into context, we invited Mr. Tommy Li, the Regional Product Manager for AXA Asia, to talk about their experience working with eCOM. AXA is using IBM Sterling File Gateway (SFG) to securely exchange data with their customers and business partners. Concerns such as meeting customer SLAs, industry standards, having secure protocols and data encryption, and ensuring the traceability, control, and monitoring of exchanged data were all met by eCOM’s implementation. Most importantly, the quick time-to-market implementation and fast customer and business partner integration established by eCOM proved essential for AXA to provide more value to its customers.
Q&A Portion
An interesting question was asked at the end of the presentation. “In my experience, you can never 100% fully integrate with your business/trading partners, what is your experience in this?”
eCOM’s solutions are about managing your environment. As opposed to building point solutions for each partner, our solution creates a centralized server that supports all protocols so that your company can work with multiple partners consistently and integrate your internal systems seamlessly. Once you have centralized management, service level management, reporting, and control will be much easier. In line with this, tools have been created for quick implementation. These tools automatically convert your partner’s interface to your internal interface and you can easily define a specific process flow for a new customer – with no programming or back-end design modification required.
